The Modern Woman's Survival Guide

Think Bridget Jones Meets Sex and the City

OUT WITH THE OLD AND IN WITH THE NEW

housework“Either that wallpaper goes, or I do” – Oscar Wilde

With the new financial year fostering the perfect excuse for a spring clean, I cleaned out my cupboards and organised paperwork ready for my tax return. Despite my disdain for the drudgery of domesticity, I have rather a penchant for spring cleaning. I’m not a believer in feng shui per-say (you certainly won’t find any flutes hanging in my romance corner), but I swear I can feel the energy shift as I throw out old things.

I am told this also makes way for new things to enter my life. I sorted through papers, letters from ex lovers and old bills, as though the more I threw out, a chanel handbag would miraculously enter my life.

This in turn, led to a mental spring clean of sorts, leading me to review my life – what has been working for me and what hasn’t been working for me. I made a list of all the things that drain my energy and decided that it was time for them to go. Having cut ties with all that was holding me back, I now feel a sense of renewed energy and motivation.

What needs to go in your life, to make way for the new and fabulous to enter?
