What a magnificent life! And while she jokes about her uninhibited, lusty lifestyle, I found her vast appreciation for the bounty of life to be wise and sophisticated. She has positioned herself in one of the most fruitful places in the world - not just for food & wine, but for people. She has a trail of friends dropping in from all over - accountants from New Zealand, classical guitarists from Brussells, elegant women from the local village....I can't imagine that Amanda will ever have a lonely day. We happened upon her place during an internet search of the area, with very little idea of what to expect except that it would accommodate our family of 18 at a relative bargain. We were so comfortable there we could barely summon the motivation to tour the nearby sites. Thank Goodness Amanda was there to prod and guide us into gear. Her best suggestions being the kayak trip under the Pont de Gard and the tour of Les Baux. Oh...and the local wine "Cave'" where we filled our gallon jugs with amazing wine from a hose for under $10. i wish we could have gotten to a half of her great recommendations! We have enjoyed her generous hospitality and have escaped the cold NZ winters to enjoy a divine summer in the South of France. We all have fond memories of leisurely lunch and dinners outside by the pool, spending up big at the local food and antique markets....fantastic sightseeing in nearby towns/villages...and of course the local wine!!!!
