THE LOVE LIST: JULY
A monthly post to remind ourselves of all the good and fabulous things in our life that bring us joy – because sometimes in the midst of busy schedules, deadlines and bills to pay, we forget.

My new flatmate – hello disco, vino, self assembled furniture, chats and side splitting laughter.

My new abode and bedroom – think white and ethereal with soft floaty curtains, damask cushions and Audrey Hepburn.

I love my work. I am lucky enough to currently work for a company that I respect, but also love working with them – in particular, my Manager, who treats me like gold – and is also fabulous to share a bottle or two of Sauv Blanc with on a Friday evening.

The mouth watering Osco Bucco in a rich ragout, served on a bed of soft, fluffy and creamy mash at Acqua e Vino in Yarraville, Melbourne – I couldn’t speak for at least an hour afterwards! Think 1920′s decor, a drinks list that is set out in movie scenes and superb friendly service.

Reading a book in bed all day after a busy week

Enjoying a bottle of red on a Sunday with said book after drying out all week.

Being surprised with two gorgeous sunny days in the depths of winter.

{ONE} My Shampoo – Kerastase Bain Gommage. It’s amazing. Whilst I don’t have combination skin , I have combination hair( yes, you read right!) So if your scalp gets dry and itchy and your ends are normal, this is THE shampoo. Leaves my hair and scalp clean and refreshed.
{TWO} My Kids – Yes, at times it freaks me out that I grew 2 little people inside my own body in 3 years, they simply amaze me and have taught me what it is like to love unconditionally.
{THREE} My Tap with running water- That would be any tap in my house. Miss L was thirsty, so I opened the tap and there it was. Clear fresh running water. I put some in it her bottle and she drank it. Watching her at that moment how I felt really blessed at how easy it was for me to do that., Knowing how some people in this world do not have access to fresh water. So Thankful.
{FOUR} My Red Beads- A few years ago I was browsing in an Op-shop and I came across simple red beads. Twenty cents. These beads dress up any outfit and I have received a gazillion compliments on them. I am wearing them to husband work function on Friday!!
Hi Jo, I love your love list – isn’t it great to remind ourselves in the thick of things of all the fabulous things in our lives, especially some of the most simple things. Those red beads sounds amazing! Oh, and I feel you on the hair harmony front – go the Kerastase – one of my fav brands!
Haircuts.
Every few months, I find myself itching to have it snipped away at and handled by amazing professional hands, much to the dismay of the persistent wish in my mind to “grow it longer!”.
And no matter what the outcome, I come out of the salon, every few months, floating on a cloud from the experience.
I have a super long mane of hair, but every few years, I too have the itch to cut it off short. Every time I do, I end up in mourning for my long luscious locks, but I also love the feeling of a professional blow dry and the experts running their hands through my hair. I wish I could be like the woman in Milan who go to the hairdresser every week for a blow dry or to have their hair set in curls. It’s a life long ambition to make this a reality. There is no price you can put on feeling this good. As I say in my book – the quality of your life is directly affected by the quality of your hair.
