VOTE: WHO SHOULD WIN CHANCE TO BECOME A MAKEUP ARTIST?

Want to help two lucky gals realise their dream of becoming makeup artists? Well you can simply by voting for your favourites out of the finalists below. The winners will receive a Certificate II in Makeup Services from the Academy of Makeup and a brush set from Gorgeous Cosmetics.

Entrants were asked to create vintage makeup looks and we are overjoyed with the level of creativity and inspiration that was injected into their work. You can view a gallery of some of the entrants here.

After taking a nail file and tweezers to the entries, we have selected not 10, but 11 finalists due to the sheer quality of the entries.

You can cast your vote at the bottom of the pictures. The poll settings will allow you to vote for more than one entry, but only once per photo. Voting closes on the 26th of July 2012 {midnight E.S.T.}. There is one course available in Melbourne and one in Brisbane, and the finalists with the most votes from each city will be selected as the winners. {Please note that you are unable to vote from mobile phones}.

Indya Timms has withdrawn from the competition. We at The Modern Woman’s Survival Guide would like to thank Indya for her integrity and wish her the very best in her future career as a Make Up Artist. Entrants are welcome to publicise their entry via social media and within internet forums, however it should be done in the spirit of the competition and draw attention to the skill of the makeup, rather than be a sympathy based vote. Future vote based competitions on The Modern Woman’s Survival Guide will have a statment that can only be used for promotion of entries within the Terms and Conditions. As this has not occurred in any of our previous competitions, it was not something that we could have been aware of to place in our terms and conditions for this competition. Again we thank Indya for her integrity and honesty.

Statement from Indya, “Dear Gaynor, the Academy, all the fabulous competitors in this incredible competition and the readers of MWSG.  I regret to announce that I have decided to withdraw my entry from this competition as I have today discovered the extent of a misguided campaign that was started in my support. This campaign and the comments that ensued were not in the spirit of which I entered this competition and I am heartbroken that it contributed to my vote tally. I want you all to know that I think that ALL of the entries to this comp are really incredible and every single one of these girls are part of an extremely talented group of Amateur Make Up Artists that deserve making it this far! I deeply apologise for any upset or offence that this campaign caused and as I think that ALL of the entries are really incredible. I know how much work I put into my entries so I completely one hundred percent respect the rest of you girls – the work that you have done and and what you have achieved in becoming a finalist!
