EFFORTLESS ELEGANCE :: THE 5 MINUTE BETTY DRAPER

Whilst I may not have Betty Draper’s blonde locks, it doesn’t stop me from wanting to emulate her ’60s peaches and cream complexion.
With a few easy steps and just a handful of products, you can be out the door looking like Don Draper’s better half quicker than he can say, “I’ll have a scotch on the rocks Betty”.
// After cleansing your skin in the shower, moisturise to prime it ready for your foundation.

// I prefer a tinted moisturiser for a more natural and dewy look, but here I’m using Bobbi Brown’s BB Cream for a touch more coverage {as this has moisturiser in it I could have skipped my moisturiser in the previous step, but I still like using it before my base for more radiance, but you can skip it to save precious time or if you prefer more of a matte look}. I sweep the BB Cream over my whole face with a brush for quicker application, and then gently pat it into my skin.

// Taupey browns are great for everyday as they are natural and don’t need much blending, but I’ve struggled to find one that isn’t too warm or coppery for the cool undertones in my skin. This shade called Leather and Lace by Napoleon has a purple undertone, which is perfect for me.

// Apply mascara to both top and bottom lashes for the volume and thickness reminiscent of the ’60s. As this is a quick everyday look, I’ve skipped eyeliner.

// Fine One One is a cream blush and lipstick in one, which has 3 colours which blend beautifully for a peaches and cream complexion, and a pastel peach powdery yet moisturising lip. If you want your cheek to pack a bit more punch, you can sweep Nars Orgasm powder blush over your cream blush.

// My blow dry has seen better days, but is perfect for a bit of ’60s half up, half down backcombing beehive action. I’ve quickly backcombed the top and decided to pin the rest back in a relaxed bun. This style is perfect when you don’t have much time, as it looks equally as good polished as it does a little messy.

// A quick spray of fragrance, and voila.

Thanks for this I have been rocking this look all week and I love it! A quick and easy way to look fabulous – been using some of the amazing Benefit products I won in your competition and they have been perfect…think I need the lippy that you are using though as it looks quite brilliant!!
