FINALIST | BEAUTY DIRECTORY STAR AWARDS 2010
Gaynor Alder nominated as one of the top 3 outstanding entries for Star Beauty Visual Award, alongside Stephanie Darling of Madison (winner).
Host Paula Joye (former Editor of Madison) presented the awards at a breakfast in Sydney at the Queen Victoria Building. The winners in the beauty journalism categories were selected on tone, delivery, quality, depth of information and consistency, with number of entries soaring over last year.
The judging panel for the Star Beauty Journalism awards comprised of:

• Gary Davey, Cosmetics Buyer, David Jones
• Frank Kavanagh, Cosmetics Buyer, Myer
• Rosi Fernandez, Managing Director, La Prairie Group Australia
Since its inception in 2004, the Beauty Directory Star Awards have provided a unique occasion to reward and recognise the beauty industry and achieve increased recognition for journalists and brands.

Gaynor is currently the Travel Editor of Onya Magazine and writes a column called, “Come Fly With Me”. Please don’t scratch her eyes out with jealousy, but she gets to gallivant around the country testing the thread count of luxury hotel sheets, swanning in and out of day spas and reviewing restaurants. We are going to need to clear something up from the get go – she doesn’t do off-road, and if there’s a 5 star option, you can bet she’s all over it.

She’s dedicated to sharing, with you, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, in her quest for fabulous Australian made and owned beauty products.
Follow Confessions of a Beauty Queen as Gaynor unearths new and exciting products, dishes the dirt and waxes lyrical about products she’s road tested in her boudoir, tells tales of trips to Australia’s best day spas and offers expert beauty advice, such as how to glue on false eyelashes without stabbing yourself in the eye with your tweezers. She warns, reading her column on a regular basis will result in falling head over heels in love with all the beautiful beauty buys this country has to offer – which isn’t a bad thing, unless you’re wearing a really expensive pair of heels.”
