Pssst… I took the liberty of purchasing Pantene Aqua Light and I can honestly say it lived up to ALL it claims. Now, my hair is very thick. Extremely thick. Horse tail thick (so I’ve been told). I was also happy that despite the claims that it leaves no residue, it definitely didn’t leave my hair dry either. My first thought was how utterly, utterly CLEAN my hair felt, soft and yes, light! After I worked my shampoo into a luxurious foam, I placed my sudsy hands under the flow of water… and the shampoo vanished. Miraculous.

I’m not going to lie, I was slightly doubtful if the conditioner was up to the job, and whether it would leave my hair dry, but this certainly wasn’t the case. The conditioner felt very thick when I applied it to the palms of my hands, and it more than adequately moisturised my hair, and again, rinsed in seconds and left no trace.

Call me Grinch, but I’m not a fan of the obligatory gift giving that comes with Christmas and birthdays and don’t even get me started on the cheesiness of Valentine’s day.

Clinique It Girl Competition

‘It’ girl status is usually reserved for those rocking gumboots at Glastonbury, but everybody’s favourite brand, Clinique is searching for six of the next IT girls in a nation-wide campaign.

The competition, now in its third year, is trying to sniff out the freshest six faces to trial Clinique products for a whole year, and develop video reviews for ClinqueTV. The lucky six will also compete for a paid internship with Clinique and beauty website BellaSugar.

The competition will be judged by those in the know when it comes to beauty; Editor of BellaSugar, Sarah Macrae; Sassy Bella Beauty Blogger, Helen Lee, and Clinque’s make-up expert, Angelique Joannides.

Anybody aged 18-24 can apply, but before you send off a snapshot of your smokey eye in an even smokier nightclub, bear in mind that the judges are seeking the freshest of them all.

“We’re looking for winners who know how to work a makeup brush in a way that enhances their features, not covers them up.” says Joannides. “Clinique is all about creating clean, fresh makeup looks, and that’s what the winners should show us in their entry”.

Rest is not frivolousness; it is sprawling on soft grass and spotting cloud pictures in the sky, reading a book in complete isolation or sharing a glass of wine with your best friend. It is by no means a waste of time. A near-Olympian friend of mine taught me this.
